Episode 2—Johanna

It takes guts to run for office, and just as much courage to work for a political candidate. In this episode, we meet someone who dedicated themself to a candidate they still believe in, only to watch that candidate drop out after Super Tuesday, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was really breaking open.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, I hope you’ll take a few moments, find a comfortable seat, and listen to Johanna’s story.

During our conversation, Johanna told me about the numerous ways she’s filling her time, while unemployed. Mostly she’s volunteering her time and skill as a lawyer, health professional, and political activist.

Johanna is Political Action Chair for the Loundon County, Virginia chapter of the NAACP. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate Johanna, her work, and her journey, consider making a gift in her honor.

You can read more about how Johanna is spending her time, and the causes she’s passionate about, in an op-ed she published a few weeks after our conversation.
